I have a Golden Ret. who sheds and need to recover my sofa with something that’s easy to remove dog hair from.

I use a Furminator on him, but he still sheds a lot. My Crate & Barrel Huntley sofa needs to be recovered anyway. Currently it has chenille but it has lots of pills on it. I am thinking Crypton fabric, but don’t want it to look institutional. Anyone who has used this fabric, please let me know of your experience, where you bought it, cost, etc. Thanks.

I find hair sticks the least to a sateen finish, that a somewhat light color helps to hide the hair (they tell you to go dark, but this never worked for me), and slip covers are a blessing ’cause you can toss it into the wash before company comes!

You might also try placing a dog bed beside the sofa and training him to lie there. I used to have a Brittainy, and I had to put empty cardboard boxes on the sofa when i left the room until her habit of getting up on the sofa was broken. I would pet her when she was beside the sofa, but scold her when she got on it, and she soon learned.
