What is the name of the product of small item that looks and sees a personalized photo, almost like a kaleidoscope?

I purhcased one in 1991, at the Carowinds amusement park.'s basically the size of a thumb. There is a white square background (where the image is inside) and look in the viewfinder the other side and see the picture of himself inside. You need to have a light source on the other side to see the hidden image within it. (Note: Only an image within and not change or make shapes like a kaleidoscope of colors) What are those things called and are still in existence? Thanks! I think it could be a slide viewer. See the link if images looked a bit like this. Slide viewers typically include a light source, but I think the cheapest / simple guy.
